EEA scholarship and training funds
SIU is the Norwegian focal point for the scholarship- and training funds established through the EEA Grants. We cooperate with national focal points in 11 countries, providing important information and guidance to institutions and organizations both in the beneficiary countries and in Norway.
A substantial part of the EEA grants are earmarked to the education sector. The funds are implemented through cooperation between the donor states and the beneficiary countries, with the Financial Mechanism Office in Brussels acting as the day-to-day secretariat. In all countries, donor states as well as beneficiary states, national focal points have the coordinating authority for activities related to the scholarship- and training funds.
Individuals and institutions in all 15 beneficiary countries may apply for project funding from the EEA Grants. The funds are administered at a national level by national focal points. This means for instance that an institution in Romania should apply for the EEA Grants through the Romanian national focal point (this procedure is the same in all the beneficiary countries).
In order for institutions in the beneficiary states to find suitable Norwegian partners for various EEA projects, SIU presents some guidelines on which information you should provide about your own institution, and some information on different educational agencies in Norway you may try to contact. This information is accessible through the menu to the left.
