Eligible countries in the Quota Scheme
The Quota Scheme is for certain developing countries that are on the DAC-list issued by OECD, and is eligible for students from the category of “ lower middle-income countries” and under. Also, the scheme accepts students from Central and Eastern Europe and Central Asia, and Palestinian students from the Palestinian Authorities.
In June 2010, the Norwegian Ministry of Education and Research presented the guidelines for the Quota Scheme for the period 2011-2014, which included an updated list of countries.
Please note that students from Jamaica*, Suriname*, Fiji*, Belarus*, Kazakhstan*, Croatia*, Montenegro* and Serbia* will not be eligible for admission on the Quota Scheme for the academic years 2011-2012, 2012-2013, 2013-2014.
Kosovo** is the only new country added to the list from the academic year 2011-2012.
