The programme is built on mutual Nordic-Russian interests, joint priorities and shared funding, and is based on an MoU between the Nordic Council of Ministers and the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation. SIU administers the programme on behalf of the Nordic Council of Ministers, in cooperation with NordForsk.

The main objective of the programme is to promote multifaceted contacts in the fields of education and research, in the interest of sustainable social and economic development in the Nordic countries and Russia.

Allocations 2016

In its meeting on June 20, 2016, the joint Nordic-Russian Working Group granted support to 14 higher education projects. The list of supported projects for 2016-2017 can be found here:

Who may apply?

Eligible participants in higher education cooperation within the Nordic-Russian Cooperation Programme are all Nordic higher education institutions that are defined as such in their respective countries. Eligible partner institutions in Russia are fully accredited higher educational institutions, limited to certain types of institutions. Please see the Call for applications and guidelines - higher education 2016 for further information about eligibility criteria for Russian institutions, as well as eligible network partners.
